CERTIFIED BIRTH & POSTPARTUM DOULA • 3RD-YEAR MIDWIFERY GRADUATE STUDENT • SERVING SOUTH PUGET SOUND
Steady, continuous care through birth and beyond.
I support families through pregnancy, labor, and the fourth trimester – blending hands-on doula care with the clinical grounding of graduate midwifery training.
What is a doula, really?
THE ROLE
A doula is a trained support person who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational care before, during, and after birth. We focus on comfort, advocacy, and steady presence — helping you understand your options, easing pain through movement and touch, and making sure your voice stays central in the room.
Before
Talking through your history, fears, preferences, and helping you build a realistic birth plan any provider can follow.
During
Hands-on comfort measures, encouragement, and helping you and your partner experience the birth you deserve.
After
Early support with recovery, feeding, and adjusting to life with a newborn in the days that matter most.
The evidence for continuous support
WHY IT MATTERS
Research consistently shows that doula support is linked to shorter labors, fewer interventions, and better overall birth experiences.
+8%
more likely to have a spontaneous vaginal birth
-25%
less likely to have a cesarean birth
-31%
less likely to report a negative birth experience
Based on a Cochrane systematic review pooling 27 randomized controlled trials of nearly 16,000 women, comparing continuous labor support to no continuous support. Bohren, M.A., Hofmeyr, G.J., Sakala, C., Fukuzawa, R.K., & Cuthbert, A. (2017). Continuous support for women during childbirth. Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.

Kind words from clients
“Your heart for women and birth work is stunning and beautiful – please treasure it, nourish it, and allow it to blossom – the world will be blessed by you in this sacred field of work. You have a true gift for this role. I was greatly blessed by your kind words and encouraging presence multiple times during my prenatal care and the morning after birth was delight for my soul to spend with you and the other women, rejoicing in the birth of a new little life, and the end of a meaningful journey in pregnancy.“
— Alex P.“Thank you so much for helping us bring baby Matthias into the world! We appreciate you coming in at the end and supporting us as if you had been here all along! You are truly a gift!”
